HDR has named Richard Crowther regional maritime director for Europe and the Middle East.
A chartered civil engineer with 17 years of experience, Crowther has worked across the full life cycle of port and marine infrastructure, including due diligence, feasibility studies, master planning, design, construction supervision and contract administration. His international project experience spans container terminals, dry ports, liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities, marinas and associated landside infrastructure. He has also built and led a multidisciplinary maritime team of more than 60 engineers and technical specialists in the Middle East.
Based in the U.K., Crowther will lead client development and help grow HDR’s maritime practice across Europe and the Middle East. He will connect clients with HDR’s broader technical expertise, and support major project pursuits and delivery in the region.
“HDR has built an impressive maritime and transportation practice in the United States, with the technical expertise and multidisciplinary capabilities needed to address complex infrastructure challenges,” Crowther said. “I’m excited to be part of the initiative to expand those capabilities in Europe and the Middle East, working alongside our teams to build lasting client relationships and deliver high-quality solutions for ports and maritime infrastructure across the region.”
